Plymouth's Sarah Sherie goes up for 2 of her game high 16 points in Saturday nights district final game at Lexington. ..

For the second time this season, the Lady Spartans and Big Red battled down to the wire with Plymouth coming out on top again, 57-51 to advance to the regional semi-finals.

The Big Red would jump out to an early first quarter lead behind 11 first half points from sharp-shooter Sarah Shirey and nice inside play from Nicole Lyons. But St Peter's super freshman McKenzie O'Brien kept the Lady Spartans in the contest with 14 first half points, that saw the half-time margin just 6 points in Plymouth's favor, 27-21. The 3rd quarter was a wash with both teams scoring 11 points in the stanza, with Plymouth leading by as many as 11 mid-way through. The final quarter of play was full of action, as St Petes went on an 8-4 spurt to open the quarter, cutting the lead down to just 2. The Big Red would remain patient on offense and get quality shots down the stretch to outscore the Lady Spartans 15-11 for the rest of the ball game and iced the game from the line. Sarah Shirey was the top scorer for Plymouth with 16 points, Molly Miller had 13 while Bre McVey and Nicole Lyons chipped in with 8. McKenzie O'Brien led St Petes with 16 points, Shabree Rawls chalked up a double double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Plymouth (18-5) will now advance to the regional semi-finals at Pickerington High School to take on Canal Winchester Harvest Prepatory at 8:00 pm, next Thursday night.
