Local and statewide office seekers were given the opportunity to state their case at a candidate's night gathering.

Conard Performance Hall in Riedel Hall on the Ohio State University-Mansfield Campus was the site for the candidate's night event.

The OSU-Mansfield/North Central State College and Ashland University College Republicans presented the event.

Candidates appearing at the event included Richland County Commissioner candidates Ed Olson, Kory Kent, Andrea Hartman and David Morganstern.

 In the 19th District State Senate race, Thom Collier, Kris Jordan and Lou Petros were on hand.

Also appearing were Sandy O'Brien, candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, and Steven Christopher , candidate for Ohio Attorney General.

OSU-Mansfield/NCSC Republican Club adviser Sid Hall said the showcase allowed candidates to get a chance to understand what's on voters' minds.

He said it also allowed voters a chance to see how the candidates answer questions and  hopefully, will help them make an informed decision at the polls in May.
