As we spring our clocks ahead this weekend, it's also the perfect time to change the batteries in your smoke detector.

National organizations, the State Fire Marshal's Office and local fire departments are reminding Ohioans to make a potentially lifesaving change when they move their clocks forward on Sunday, March 14: Change the batteries in your smoke detectors!

The Springfield Township Fire Department offers free smoke detectors for senior citizens, and even come out in the fall to change the batteries for you. If you would like more information about this generous offer, call 419-529-5512.
