Sarah Clapper Is Crowned Miss Ohio 2017 Winner

MANSFIELD, OH - The winner of the 2017 Miss Ohio Pageant is Sarah Clapper, 22, of Columbus.

The new Miss Ohio was crowned Saturday night on the stage of the Renaissance Theatre after re-competing against the other nine semifinalists in the Talent, Swimsuit, Eveningwear, and On-Stage Question categories.

On Friday evening, Clapper, who wore the banner Miss Clayland, won a preliminary talent award, playing a piano rendition of "White Water Chopped Sticks."

Clapper also won a preliminary award Thursday night for Lifestyle and Fitness.

Her platform is "More to Me: Defining Value for Future Success," with her goal of helping athletes after career-ending injuries.

She will now compete for the title of Miss America in Atlantic City, NJ in September.

The first runner-up was Miss Miami Valley, Karolina Ulasevich of North Royalton and the second runner-up was Miss Akron-Canton, Matti-Lynn Chrisman of Cambridge.
