Kickstart is a funding website where you can help others with a goal, maybe a trip, buying a house, or for one local guy, make potato salad. We introduce you to Zack Brown, and his plan to take potato salad worldwide. "I didn't think it was going to blow up this big," Brown says. Since birth, his middle name has been "danger," seriously. Now, his idea is what is in danger of blowing up. "I thought, I have never made potato salad, I should try making some potato salad," Brown says. It started with prepping for Independence Day. "This week people were talking a lot about potato salad," Brown says "And anyway, what goes better with the Fourth of July, than some potato salad, here you want some?" asks WSYX reporter Andrew Michael. The idea is simple, donate money to make a batch of potato salad. If you donate at least $5, you get to pick an ingredient, and we all have our own twists. "Probably be some thousand island," says one guy. "Ketchup and mustard," answers another man. "BW3 wing sauce," says a third man. "Cinnamon, yea," argues another man. But for Zack... "There's that potato salad, like the yellow one, I really like that one," he says. It started a day ago and now he can hardly keep up. "Oh, we just got more backers while we were standing here," Brown says. The funding ends August 2. "And then we would do a potato salad party, and it crazy that it has spun out of control like this," Brown says. People want his potato salad from around the world. "People tweeting in Japan, we got a comment from someone in Norway who said that they were really excited that we were doing this potato salad kickstart, they hadn't seen anything like that before, uh, France there was a lot of tweets from France this morning," Brown says. The hard part will be getting all the funders in his house. "You can see the kitchen is a little small, but I think that we can make due," Brown says. And for those outside of the country... "And then ship it across the world," Brown says. And the potato salad idea makes people smile. "I feel that if everyone had a scoop of potato salad everyday the world would be a better place," says one man.
