Chrysler announced Monday it's recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles, due to an ignition switch problem similar to he one that forced General Motors to recall 2.6-million vehicles worldwide. The recall affects more than half a million vehicles in the U.S. It includes some Dodge Journey SUV's, Dodge Grand Caravans and Chrysler Town and Country minivans made from 2007 to 2009. The company says jarring road conditions, such as hitting a pothole, may cause the vehicle's key to slip out of the "run" position. The recall comes after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began investigating the issue because it had received complaints of the problem. Chrysler says it does not know about any injuries related to the recall issue.
