With the official start to the football preseason two weeks from Friday, many area teams are putting in their ten days with passing scrimmages and joint practices. Galion and Ontario did as much last week as both begin the search to replace graduated seniors, especially at quarterback where Galion looks to replace starter Dareian Watkins, while Ontario looks to replace Tyler Boatwright as the Warriors begin their second season in the Northern Ohio League where they finished 5-5 overall and 2-4 in league play.

For Galion who won the the NCC at 9-1 overall and 6-1 in conference, they will begin play in the Red Division of the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference the schools third league affiliation in the last four years. The Tigers according to coach Chris Hawkins will have to deal with some very good teams such as Buckeye Valley, North Union, Jonathan Alder, Marion Pleasant, Fairbanks and Upper Sandusky just to name a few. The Warriors and Tigers will both open the season on Friday, August 29th against long time rivals. Ontario will be on the road at Lexington, Galion will be at home against Crawford County foe Bucyrus.
