After four years and four straight NBA finals and two championship rings, Lebron James is headed back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team he began his pro career with back during the 2003-'04 season.

In a story that broke early on Friday afternoon on S.I.com, James says in part that when he left Cleveland he was on a mission to win championships winning two. But James says Miami already knew the feeling and that Cleveland has not had that feeling in a long, long, long time (1964). James says his goal is to win as many as possible and now bring a championship to northeast Ohio. He adds that he believed that he would return to Cleveland to finish his career there, but he didn't know when.

James says he is not promising a championship saying the Cavaliers right now are not ready to win a championship and it will be a long process, much longer than what it was back in 2010, but I'm ready to accept the challenge. James led the Cavaliers to the 2007 NBA Finals, but the team was swept by the San Antonio Spurs 4-0. The only current player remaining on the Cavaliers roster who was on that team is Anderson Varejao. Since his departure for Miami, the Cavaliers have not been back to the post season.  That may be changing.
