Local Track Team Prepping For Nationals

The Blessed to Run track club of Mansfield coached by Tyree Shine will be sending 30 athletes to the AAU Nationals beginning July 26th, at Drake University in Iowa. Of the 30, ten finished first La'Terrica Johnson in the F-12 400 at 65.5, Alaya Grose who won both the F-14 100 meters and 200 hurdles in 12.4 & 28.9, Sophie Clairmonte in the F-15-16 javelin at 86'2", Aveon Grose who won the M-10 turbo javelin at 62'3", Jaden Grose winning the M-8 long jump 11'11", Emir Hemphill who won the M-11 discus and javelin at 60'01" & 84'.

Another double winner was Angelo Grose in the M-13 200 meters and long jump at 25.7 and 17'1". Ty'Lheir Grose won both the M-12 disc and shot put at 94' and 36'3". Alamar Grose took home first in the M-13 100 meter hurdles at 17.0 and Keandra Marlow placed first in the M-13 high jump at 5'2". The BTR track team will run one tune up meet in Canton on July 19th, before heading to Iowa for the national meet the following weekend.
