As reported last fall, the Startek Stadium at Ram Field project construction continues as Madison becomes the fourth area facility to have turf installed on their football field. The Rams join Community Stadium and Jack Miller Stadium at Fred Martinelli Field in Ashland and Arlin Field in Mansfield.

Madison athletic director Kirk Manns says the facility will be top notch and also includes a complete upgrade to the eight lane track, high jump area and runways for long jump and pole vault. New lights have also been installed. Manns says Madison will host the OCC track meet in 2015 and will also have their own invitational early in the season.

Football coach Sean Conway says the new look Ram Field will be a boost to the program on Friday night and during the week during practice. Both Conway and Manns said none of work being done to upgrade Ram Field would be possible without the support of the community, the Madison Athletic Boosters and Startek who have all made major contributions to the project.

The players may be able to get on their new field as early as July 9th, when the Rams host Bucyrus in their first preseason passing scrimmage. Madison's 2014 football home opener will take place Friday, September 5th against Galion.
