This Saturday morning the Mansfield Urban Youth League Track Team will host the all- comers track meet at Mehock Field at 8am. It's an event that will bring in some 200-250 tracksters in age ranges from 5 to high school with the meet involving some 30 teams from around area and the state.

Head coach Bruce Woodson says he got involved with the organization by accident back in 1998 and has been with it ever since. Woodson says for anyone who would like to get involved with the team all you really need to do is show up during practice or at a meet.

Shelby high jumper Cody Stine who finished third at last week's Division II OHSAA state track meet with a jump of 6'7" says he uses the summer to work on technique. Tyger hurdler Koz Sutton says the team has helped him drop his times down over the past two to three years. Woodson also adds that most people find out about the team through word of mouth saying they didn't even know the area had a summer time track team, but it is open to anyone.
