The Division II district track meet is being held this week at Oak Harbor with the finals set for Friday afternoon. One of the local teams prepping for D-2 districts is Ontario. Several athletes who had a good showing at the NOL track meet this past weekend, where the Warriors finished third as a team behind Norwalk and Sandusky, hope to be able to advance to regionals next week at Lexington.

In the shot put, Ontario's Bronson Krull may be one of the favorites after winning the NOL meet with a throw of 55'10 3/4". Teammate Cole Gehrisch was close behind with a toss of 53'6". The Warriors Lenell Shelby will be looking to better his winning time of 40.01 at the NOL in the 300 meter hurdles. Shelby made the podium in the event a year ago at state. Ontario's Cam Mack hopes to get back to regionals in the 100 and 200 meter dash. Mack finished third and fourth in those two events at the NOL meet in times of 11.5 and 23.1. Mack also made the podium at state in 2013 in the 200. The Warriors Brett Cortelletti who ran 9:53.6 at Tiffin last weekend is another district favorite. He was just four tenths of a second off the winning time of 9:53.2 run by Norwalk's Quentin Howell.

On the girls side is Ontario's Rachel Miller who is hoping for a good showing after winning the NOL meet in the 400 meters with a time of 59.4. Miller is also looking to advance to regionals in the 4x200 meter relay which was second with a time of 1:53.4.  Other local teams competing at Oak Harbor are Bucyrus, Clear Fork, Galion, Lexington, Shelby and Willard.
