The Ashland Arrow softball team was able to get at least a share of the OCC championship Tuesday evening at home getting by Madison 4- 2. Things did not start well for the Arrows as last season's champions came to play striking first for two runs in the top of the first when Madison's Liz Sutter walked, then came home to score when Ashland pitcher Racquel Ward over shot first base on Chase Carper's slap bunt with the wild throw allowing Carper to advance all the way to third. Carper would then score when the Arrows misplayed a pop fly off the bat of the Rams Katie Mullins which put Madison up 2-0.

There would be no more scoring until the bottom of the fourth inning when Ashland's Brianna Masters walked, then back-to- back bunt singles by Morgan Light and Kaylee Harpster loaded the bases with nobody out bringing up pitcher Racquel Ward who sent the third pitch she saw from Madison's Paige Whisler over the wall in left for a grand slam putting the Lady A's up 4-2 and that would also be the final score.

The win put Ashland at 15-3 in all games and 11-0 in the OCC, while Madison slipped to 10-6 and 6-5 in conference. The two teams will meet again at Madison with the Arrows having shot at an outright OCC crown.
