At 12-4 in all games and 8-0 in Ohio Cardinal Conference play, the Madison baseball team stands at the top of the OCC standings. Head coach Doug Rickert who picked up his 300th career win dating back to 1999, when the Rams stopped North Olmsted and Midview.

On the 8-0 and 12-4 record to this point, Rickert sites the team's better play in the field with only ten errors through 16 games, where as last season at this point the team had an unheard of 54. The coach also says the Rams have been much more selective at the plate taking more walks and not swinging at bad pitches. He also credits his pitching staff for throwing strikes and allowing the defense to play behind them.

The Rams have an important two game series coming up against Lexington on Thursday and Friday weather permitting. The Minutemen come in at 10-6 in all games and 6-2 in OCC play. Lexington has won six straight after taking two over the weekend from state ranked Fredericktown.
