After starting the softball season a year ago at 5-10, the Clear Fork softball team got things turned around and finished third in the OCC at 20-11 and winning the district championship, the team's third in four years. Coach Jeff Gottfried has five lettermen coming back from last season's squad, two of them seniors. Gottfried hopes the team's pitching is up to par right from the start because scoring runs early when the weather is cold can be difficult. As far as who he thinks will contend for an OCC title, Gottfried says Orrville, Lex, Ashland and maybe Madison. The coach adds if his team is able to play error free softball, the Colts will be in the mix as well. |
