A Mansfield man faces up to life in prison, if convicted of charges in an indictment returned by the Richland County Grand Jury. 34-year-old Rashaune Ramsey is charged with Rape, Kidnapping, Possession of Heroin and Cocaine, and Sexually Violent Predator specifications over an attack on a woman March 20th at his home of Rowland Avenue. First Assistant Prosecutor Bambi Couch-Page says Ramsey is accused of bringing a woman to his home and forcing himself on her. METRICH served a search warrant at Ramsey's home the next day, and seized heroin, cocaine, and $4500 in cash, which prosecutors are asking he forfeit. Ramsey is charged in another indictment with Aggravated Burglary and Felonious Assault in a November 30th attack on a different woman at the Merit Inn on Park Avenue West. Couch-Page says Ramsey and another man kicked down the door to the woman's room, bashed her over the head with a television, and beat her with their hands and feet because she owed them $40. The woman suffered serious facial injuries. Rashaune Ramsey is in the Richland County Jail on $5- million bond.
